To implement the requirements of the Municipal Party Committee’s “Heart-to-Heart Outreach to Grassroots Levels and Face-to-Face Problem-Solving” campaign, on the afternoon of May 11, Liu Yang, Deputy Secretary of the Xiangtan Municipal Party Committee and Head of the United Front Work Department, led a delegation to Yourfield Grou for a field visit under the same campaign. The delegation conducted research on innovation and entrepreneurship among overseas Chinese–affiliated enterprises in Xiangtan, gaining first-hand insights, listening to the voices of overseas Chinese, understanding their circumstances, addressing their difficulties, and boosting their confidence. Peng Ruilin, Deputy Secretary-General of the Xiangtan Municipal Party Committee, also participated in the research. Key officials from the Organization Department of the Xiangtan Municipal Party Committee (Municipal Talent Office), the Xiangtan Federation of Overseas Chinese, the Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, the Municipal Culture, Radio, Television, Press and Tourism Bureau, the Municipal Commerce Bureau, and the Xiangtan High-tech Industrial Development Zone attended the meeting. On that day, Liu Yang and his delegation visited Yourfield Group’s safety experience center, production workshops, and office premises to gain an understanding of the company’s actual development situation. At the symposium on innovation and entrepreneurship among overseas Chinese–affiliated enterprises in Xiangtan, Li Wenhui, President of Yourfield Group, spoke as the enterprise representative. He began by introducing the basic profile of Yourfield Group and outlined its business strategy centered on “two verticals and two horizontals,” aiming to establish four centers and one platform: the China Protective Equipment R&D and Production Center; a well-known regional training center for workplace safety and emergency rescue in Central China; the Hunan Provincial Public Health and Public Safety Emergency Equipment and Supplies Reserve Center; a regional laundry, disinfection, and rental service center; and a digital service platform for the emergency and protective equipment supply chain. He also expressed gratitude to the Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and the High-tech Industrial Development Zone for promptly resolving issues related to personnel recruitment and utility services when Yourfield encountered challenges. Furthermore, he presented the company’s requests regarding the urgent need to attract high-end professional talent and to collaborate with Hunan University of Technology to establish the Yourfield Packaging New Materials Research Institute. Subsequently, representatives of other overseas Chinese–affiliated enterprises in Xiangtan freely shared their views on how best to promote the development of such enterprises. Liu Yang stated that he was deeply moved and touched by the issues raised by the overseas Chinese–affiliated enterprises. He noted that Xiangtan is home to more than 30,000 overseas Chinese and over 30,000 family members who have returned from abroad—resources of great value—and urged relevant departments to actively communicate with these enterprises and publicize the municipal government’s “Twelve Industrial Chains” and “Twelve Golden Policies for Attracting Investment,” encouraging overseas Chinese and their enterprises to play an active role in advancing Xiangtan’s high-quality development. Liu Yang emphasized that the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government attach great importance to the development of overseas Chinese in Xiangtan and should strengthen policies for attracting high-end talent and supporting small and micro enterprises. He also expressed the hope that overseas Chinese will remain steadfastly aligned with the Party, working together to build a community of shared future; focus on innovation and entrepreneurship, thereby demonstrating the sense of responsibility and commitment of the overseas Chinese community; and commended Yourfield as the only overseas Chinese enterprise nationwide to be recognized as an advanced collective in the fight against the pandemic, highlighting its dedication and sense of responsibility. In addition, he called on overseas Chinese and their enterprises to serve as bridges and links, expanding Xiangtan’s network of connections, while urging the Xiangtan Federation of Overseas Chinese to prioritize service and become a trusted partner for overseas Chinese–affiliated enterprises. Finally, Liu Yang instructed all departments to systematically review the issues raised at the symposium and ensure that each one is effectively addressed.
