Material classification and standards of Disposable Isolation Clothing
Disposable Isolation Clothing is a type of protective clothing used to protect medical staff and patients from infection by microorganisms and body fluids when the patient is isolated. Disposable Isolation Clothing is designed and manufactured to isolate all or part of the body from potential dangers, or to isolate the external environment from infection by the wearer.
Disposable Isolation Clothing can be divided into: Disposable Isolation Clothing (SS + PE film), Disposable Isolation Clothing (SMS non-woven fabric), Disposable Isolation Clothing (PP+PE), Disposable Isolation Clothing (Non-woven fabric) according to material classification.
Disposable Isolation Clothing is mostly made of polypropylene non-woven fabric, which is SMS non-woven fabric (S is spunbond layer, M is melt blown layer). There are multiple levels and standards of yellow, white, blue, and dark blue. The editor below tries to discuss these medical supplies from the perspective of Disposable Isolation Clothing materials.
Any piece of Disposable Isolation Clothing, after the SMS spunbond fabric and meltblown fabric are compounded, is not to be made into clothing immediately, but to be post-processed to meet the requirements of the three antibodies: water resistance, alcohol resistance, and blood resistance. The treatment liquid is generally a fluorine-based material.
After the treatment is completed, clothes are made and then disinfected. Common medical disinfection includes high-temperature steam sterilization, ethylene oxide sterilization and radiation sterilization. The best effect should be radiation sterilization.
The level 4 of the AAMI standard has the highest requirements, requiring testing of the permeability of germs and blood. The requirements for non-woven fabrics are very high. The non-woven fabrics we mentioned are composed of two polypropylene fibers, and the fibers may always leak , If we put the film in, the penetration problem is completely solved, so in the highly demanding AAMI Level 4 Disposable Isolation Clothing, a certain air permeability, hydrophilic and moisture-permeable film will be used.
